About the Role
We are looking for the person who will take Murphy from one market to many.
After a year and a half of building product for the most demanding and complex customer segment (regulated financial services) we now have the traction evidence to consolidate the Spanish market and expand into new ones.
The Expansion Lead owns the New Market Incubator: the engine that takes markets from 0 to 1, builds the replicable playbook, and hires the Market Launchers who scale each market to its full potential.
You'll be responsible for opening the doors that bring revenue to Murphy.
Own the P&L of the New Market Incubator
Take new markets from 0 to 1 while building a replicable playbook of GTM motions: Inbound, Outbound, Partnerships & Events
Recruit, onboard and lead Market Launchers to open new markets at scale
Be close to the ground. You'll talk to prospects and sign a handful of deals yourself, not because you're the salesperson, but because the playbook has to be earned from real reps before you can hand it to anyone else
Develop the mechanisms to gather deep market intelligence and share it systematically with Product, Marketing and Leadership
Make the tough calls. Set clear criteria for when a market is not ready to scale and prioritise accordingly. You are here to unlock revenue opportunities
About you
Experience in high-growth environments with an early or non-existent GTM playbook. You've launched markets, verticals or business units in businesses without brand pull, successfully
Commercial acumen: evidence of your ability to follow the money, understand how deals are won, and build replicable mechanisms to scale from it
Talent spotter and early-stage team builder: a track record of identifying, hiring and ramping strong GTM talent. You set clear expectations, coach well, and bring the best out of people
Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort with ambiguity: you've built structure where none existed, you move fast, decide with limited data points, and course-correct without drama
Resilience and long-term thinking: you maintain discipline during complex periods, care for foundations and first principles over short-term guesses, and never confuse activity with progress
Fluent English; Spanish and additional languages are a strong advantage.
Nice to have:
Founder or zero-to-one operator experience
Exposure to selling into regulated industries (financial services, compliance-gated cycles)
Experience managing distributed commercial talent across geographies

2️⃣ Second Interview – Deep Dive
You’ll meet the Hiring Manager and potentially another team member. This is a more technical discussion where we explore your skills in detail, walk through real scenarios, and answer any questions you might have about the role.
3️⃣ Tech Assessment or Business Case
A practical exercise to see how you approach challenges similar to those you’d tackle at Murphy. You’ll have time to reflect and showcase your thinking—no rush, no surprises.
4️⃣ Meet the Founders
Finally, you’ll join us in our Barcelona office for a relaxed coffee with the founders and the Hiring Manager. It’s the perfect opportunity to experience our culture firsthand and meet more of the team who could soon be your colleagues.
